Elusive lover...

She came like a whisper
A plain portrait, bereft of glamour, drawn in leisure.
I lost my heart when I first saw her
Coiled on the bed, face buried in cushion still in her school uniform.

Fresh in canvas, capturing stirring innocence, she exuded art at its best.
Representing a crescent moon with wrapped emotions within
She became my intriguing muse.

I chased for answers
Was it the inquisitive wind that caressed her chastity
Or the heavenly shower that gave her a new flush.
I fancied her, tried to realize her but she eluded me.
Reflecting from the framed profile.

Till one day I chanced upon someone who composed her in spirits.
Exuding artistic conspicuousness tinged with deceptive arrogance
She was one elusive beauty with arresting significance.
So close yet so far was she…challenging my proficiency in poetic eloquence
Igniting me profoundly.

I courted and waited patiently for months.
To encase her in my arms…respond did she to my perseverance finally.

As we lie by the window watching the heavenly shower, framing not just us but my elusive lover
