The language didn't act as a barrier between us
When our eyes made the contact
She was in awe of my city bearing

I had travelled to my friend's village for his wedding
She was his sister in law
Petite yet garrulous
Even if our communication was ludicrous
Her eyes gave it away
And I got carried by my male instinct

Everyone had retired for the night
And I was fast asleep on the bed
Suddenly to be woken
By a presence beside me
It was her
Cradling by me
My arms on her waist
My face on her neck
Bewildered, I could barely breath
The fragrance of her femininity
Was so intoxicating
I stayed rooted, holding her

As the dawn set in
She woke up
Tied her hair
And left
Assuming me to be asleep
And without realising
I had been awake for hours
Holding and feeling her.
