Grey as cemetery granite
That was my life
When I was with you
Even if, for a short while
A phase where we bonded and blossomed
With you, I wore my colour with pride
You reaffirmed my faith in love
Yet I refrained from committing
As I had been damaged within
If ever I wish my story to be narrated
It will be your voice
Were you that soulmate I sought
I am yet to figure out
As long as I live
I will cherish our memories
As you settle in distant shores
That inescapable reality of our lives.
