Suddenly it started drizzling
Rest of the couples sought shelter
But we kept dancing, oblivious
We spoke the unspoken
Through our eyes
Was it the glimmer in her eyes
Or was it the shower laminating her skin
She presented a picture of beautifully shredded being
We came out of our reverie
When it started raining heavily
She ran and stood near the staircase
Waiting for me
But I didn't
I stood there under nature's fury
Extending my hand
She came back
And we kissed
Like two famished souls
Wishing and desiring to love
And live again
We went back to my room
And sat wordlessly for half an hour
Trying to fathom the turbulent feeling
And that night set the onset of a beginning
I never knew what I was getting into
She was struggling to get out of an abusive relationship
And I had gone through a break up.
